Teen Mom – Road to Independence

Moved beyond a high school diploma!

In June 2013 – with 3-year old Joanna in tow – Jess proudly received her dipoloma from Centennial High School, as well as a Nursing Assistant certificate from Middle Bucks Institute of Technology. “But I wanted more, ” said Jess. “I just didn’t know what!”

But once again CHC to her rescue! On a summer day, Jessica met with Randi McCreesh, Education and Career Coordinator, and Diane Jones, Case Manager, at Starbucks. As the three women sipped lattes, they examined differnt careers for Jessica. And so while working full-time as a nursing assistant – and regularly carving out mom-time wiht Joanna – Jess enrolled in BCCC’s Phlebotomy and EKG programs. “Miss Randi took my life from rough t osmooth. I couldn’t have done it without her,” Jess recalls with a smile.

Jessica is currently looking for a position as a phlebotomist and considering returning to school again to become an Ultrasound Technician. Her eyes bright and dancing with excitement, Jessica smiled. “It’s time to call Miss Randi again.”
